There are a few choices, but you have to either pay a bit more or give
up some feature(s) and go with an "off brand". Take a look at the ilo
DVDRH04. I had one and it worked fine for a couple of years.

There's a web site with software "hacks" to improve preformance a lot.

You might also look at LiteOn models, as this ilo was actually
manufactured by LiteOn.
Just Google "DVD recorder with internal hard drive" and you'll ge lots
of models to check out.
