Yes, the PS2 beat the Xbox, but the show is on the other foot this
time. Only die hard sony fans would be tempted to buy a PS3 at current
price levels. Sony beat the Xbox last time round, but it would appear
that they have completely got it wrong this time - else they are
arragantly believing their own hype and previous success is all it
takes.

That maybe true to a degree, though there are still plenty of kid
friendly games out there to satisfy.

I had a go on one of these a few weeks back. (Im not a gaming person -
even if I have got an Xbox and 360 - they are for the kids!).
Whilst I thought it was fun, I could see there may well be longevity
problems. Novelties wear off! It wouldnt shock me of the Wii ends the
biggest seller of all 3 and PS3 trails in last.
But - I cant see DVDs being replaced overall by BR or HD - at least
not for many many years. Like you (I think), Im usually a very early
adapter to new "toys", but I just dont have the urge this time. And if
"geeks" don't, then to be mainstream the general public buys in
droves, both have failed.
