Audio-wise Blu-ray is in a mess? They have four times more lossless
titles than HD DVD.
I'll enjoy Sony's non-dialogue normalized TrueHD and PCM tracks,
Disney's 24-bit PCM tracks, Lions Gate's 7.1 PCM tracks, Warner's PCM
tracks, Paramount's upcoming PCM tracks and Fox's 1.5 Mbps DTS core
before I get stuck buying into a format that so far only has about 35
titles available with lossless TrueHD on them and otherwise losssy
Dolby Digital Plus.

Once the PS3 has DTS-MA decoding then I'll be enjoying that too.
According to DTS that should be within the next 6 months.

I have no idea why you still have your BDP-S300, I would have taken it
back and bought a PS3 a long time ago if I were you. 24/176.4
decimation for SACD? Sweet, most dedicated SACD players in NA don't
have that much fidelity when converting to PCM, which all analog
players have to do. Ethernet port for 2.0 profile, 2 @ 40 Mbps AVC
decoding capabilities for 1.1 profile? Hello, easy decision.

And you're wrong when you say that most players don't do TrueHD. Both
Elite players do it, both Panasonic players do it, the Samsung BD-
P1200 does it natively and there's firmware coming out for the 1st gen
model. The PS3 also does it.

All studios using TrueHD also are putting a PCM track too. The only
exception was one Warner title, Iwo Jima, but 300 will have TrueHD and
PCM, Batman Begins will have TrueHD and PCM and Troy Director's Cut
will have PCM and TrueHD. I don't see much of a problem there when
only one movie so far has been released with only a TrueHD track.
Hardly a mess.

None of the HD DVD players can play the DTS-MA tracks on all the
Studio Canal releases.
