Your guess is likely even better than ours because you have actualy
seen these things.
OTOH, if you want to actually reveal a brand name and model number,
it would be easy enough for us (or even you) to look it up.
Note however, that using random DV tapes is not necessarily a good
idea. Many of us buy a partiular brand (and even model) and stick with
it. You can get very decent, name-brand tapes for very good prices by
ordering them in cases (5 tapes) from reputable dealers.
Yes, I've heard the tales of iternerant world-travelling documentary
makers relying on local supplies and finding their favorite brand in
a little dusty "Kiosk" in Mwanza, Tanzania, but I've never been that lucky.
