That is indeed a much bigger problem. A while ago I was at a Sony
service dealer, and they were keeping a couple of old U-Matic machines
for spare-parts, to be able to keep at least one machine in good
condition. U-Matic was once a standard for showreels :-)
(glad it's DVD's now)
