What I usually just do is change the last digit of each and add a
1 to the beginning. So mine could be something like
TCP 16695
UDP 16258

There's a huge range that's usable, which used to get posted here
a lot in the old(er) days.

When it seems like my transfers (up and down) are getting
timed-out too much (over the course of at least an hour or more
because sometimes I think it's just a matter of being connected
to a primary with a poor connection), I try changing my ports.

But since it could also be a matter of just being connected to a
bad primary (I'm not sure if this applies if you're also running
a primary connection, because I always do now), you could also
try a simple disconnect and reconnect and see if that helps any.
