iPods will play protected AAC files (.m4p), normal AAC files (.m4a) and MP3
files.
As for the original question. There are quite a few DVD rippers available
online which you can rip a DVD soundtrack with, either directly to WAV file
and reconvert to whatever format you wish, or to an MP3 File. For use on an
iPod. Somewhere like Doom9 (.net) will have the info.
