I can remember VHS movies costing $120, and DVDs were about $30, before
they dropped to $19.99 for most releases...
Even then, many people got burned by DVDs where a series would be released
on individual discs for $20-25/ea., only to have a boxset come out later
that was roughly 40-60% less than what the single discs cost.
Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me. I know I'm not the only one who felt ripped
off by wacky DVD pricing. As a reault, I no longer snatch up new DVDs but
wait to see what the inevitable collection looks like.
You know that these HD discs will drop in price, just like VHS and DVD
before it. Only a fool would eagerly snatch up something like this at
full price when you KNOW Paramount will do the "whole series" set down the
road which will cost less per season than what Paramount is charging now.
