OT, but I like the story...
Some years ago, I went out with someone who liked to say "No pain, no
gain". She would say it whenever she created a painful situation.
I never could convince her that although if she were right, the absence
of pain would entail the absence of gain, but the presence of pain did
*not* entail the presence of gain :-)
Oddly enough, there wasn't much gain in our relationship.
