The obvious place to start are the relevant embassies for advice. And
yes if permits are required it IS absolutely necessary as you open
yourself up to being expelled if you have incorrect papers or not even
getting into the countries in the first place.
You'll need working visas too as you'll have a hard time explaining that
you are a tourist with all your gear.
Don't get Ebola y'all...
