Idiot. Don't you mean cheap clock radio in a box being called a stereo
system?

You'd be better off with a 7.1 channel PC set-up.

Mine: A $200 100W x 6 Pioneer A/V Receiver, an old '70s era pair of
front speakers by Scott, and a $200 pair of Radio Shack Optimus Pro LX5
Rear speakers, with a PC targeted sub-woofer that I robbed from my PC
set-up.

Sure, you could spend a couple hundred bucks and get a thrown together
system, but you won't match the wattage (at decent distortion ratings)
and you'll end up with shit. At attempting to get below $100, all you'll
get is a glorified clock radio. I wouldn't even consider it., much less
call it a "home theater" set-up.
