Two examples I've seen for keeping disks from slipping during
shipping.
The disks I'd get from Austrailia would have the side seal slit
and a plastic 'peanut' inserted to keep the disk in it's place.
In a used DVD I bought the shipper taped the disk to the center
post.
I remved the tape and played the disk, but then it would not eject.
When you'd open the drawer it would come out empty but the disk was
still inside.
There was a small amount of tape residue on the hub and when the
clamping ring grabbed it, it stuck to the ring, which meant I had
to take the player apart.
Just and FYI when you get disks that are not new. Check
carefully. It only took me once to learn that lesson.
