This is true. It took them forever to come out with their first HDV
product.

Things never seem to slow down at Sony. Aside from the HVR-HD1000
series full-size HDV camcorder that you just mentioned, they also
recently announced the GV-HD700/GV-HD700E HDV Walkman portable VCR.
I also expect them to come out with yet another full-size HDV
camcorder, one that will use Standard (large) tapes.
Then there's the upcoming PMW-EX1 XDCAM EX camcorder.
