Wonder if you can clarify something else for me - the battery that
came with it was goosed, and I bought a 2nd hand one from Ebay* that
initially seemed to hold a decent charge (1.5 to 2 hrs in powersave
mode) - I certainly had it going for ~40 mins, and it was indicating
about 1.25 hours left.
*a pull from a broken machine from a well-known and reputable dealer
of corporate kit
Subsequent charges have lead to very short usage times while on
battery power alone.
An example of this is I charged the "good" battery to 100%, used it
for a while (lots of HD activity etc to use power) ~15-20 mins, and
the charge dropped to about 85%
Upon the next reboot, by the time it got to the desktop it was on 75%,
and within 10 mins or so it was on 3%
Is there a charge circuit in the laptops themselves that might be
buggered, or is the circuitry just in the battery themselves ?
