Or even if the disc is new. When I was watching Veronica Mars Season
1, I put the fourth disc into my player without really looking at
it, and it immediately began making this hwerk-hwerk-hwerk sound. I
pulled the disc out and found that some moron had attached a
security tag to the playing surface! Thankfully I was able to get it
and the sticky residue off with no damage, though it needed to be
wiped a couple times before it'd play.
