BTW I noticed that flashing firmware of LG drives can be laborious. I my
case I had to open the system case, remove the IDE cable of the other DVD
drive and temporarily set the LG jumper to master, before running the flash
program.
After all this I had to rebuild the original configuration (DVD player sec.
master and LG writer sec. slave).

They emphasize that the LG be the only device on secondary and set as master
before flashing firmware.
Don't know what happens without taking the precautions, but didn't dare
taking the risk.
