I have nothing to sell Bill so I shall not be divulging my identity.
All you need to know is that I have produced programmes for broadcast tv
in the UK and now work as a freelance compositor in London. I work
either at the client premises or I take on a "job" and work from my
office and get in other freelancers (friends) to assist as necessary.
Oh and I used to be a scientist before moving into the media business.

I have never written an article for a magazine though and have found it
is generally the case that those that can do while those that can't
write about it or teach or both. Sound familiar?

If real names are so important to YOU Bill why waste your time hear with
us screen names? Why not find a real names board and mong around there?
If you don't like the membership of this newsgroup then simply fuck off.

All I can see from your credentials is that you have written about the
industry at a relatively low level targeted at the interested amateur
for some time. You have a small editing suite at home big deal. It
might impress the local car dealerships owner whose commercial you are
producing but in the grown up world of post production it looks more
wedding video than prime time factual.

As far as Nappy's credentials they may well be utter BS but I don't
happen to believe they are. Even if his claims weren't true he'd still
make the better dinner guest.

Getting back to the training seminars. If you think these seminars are
anything more than an opportunity to indoctrinate noobs into a branded
workflow. You only have to look at the titles of the courses to "know"
exactly the level of these classes and who they are aimed at.

Personally I favour this level of custom training.
http://www.escapestudios.com/.

Not cheap but you won't find camcorder techniques or advanced editing on
premiere pro listed there.
