The iPod certainly has been an incredible influence in the public eye
in equating mp3 / iPod / Apple. I wish them all success with this, my
wife has an iPod shuffle and it is an amazing piece of hardware.
It is a pity that this influence seems to exclude, at least in the
public eye such things as alternative music formats such as Ogg
Vorbis and flac for example. Another example is the attempt to link
these devices with proprietary software such as iTunes.
And while I am whinging: those iTunes cards at checkouts everywhere
really get on my goat :-)
