I use a FS-100 with the HVX200.
It is a bit clumsy. I have a mount for it on the camera for when I am NOT
using camera mics. The belt clip is ok. But the 4 pin firewire connector is
indeed the weakest link. Gotta be careful.
Transfer rates are going to be the rate of a firewire interface.
The battery on the FS-100 last just about 7 hours or so. If you are
espeically efficient you can get a full day of shooting out of it.
We've had no problems uploading the footage. The FS will break files at 2GB
and chain multiple segments together so they look like complete files to the
upload.
