It is a bit of a pain to set up but an iPod can accept a file *.m4b, which
it recognises as an Audiobook and keeps in it's "Audiobook" folder. The pain
bit is converting all the mp3 files into one m4b but I find it worthwhile.
M4b files are M3a (called AAC) files manually renamed.
You can of course just buy them as such from iTunes. But I just convert them
from CDs.
First I join the Mp3s with "MakeItOne" then I convert to m4a with
"dBpoweramp" then rename the single m4a file to m4b.
Then you can put it in iTunes and it will appear in your iPod as a single
book. You then ask iPod to remember it's place and Bobs you uncle :-)
Note: You can use iTunes to rip the CD as AAC (Which has the m4a file name)
but then the book will appear as possibly hundreds of files instead as one.
