Sony chose for an "open" format, which will make the storage media a lot
cheaper. Granted, not as cheap as tape, but a lot cheaper than P2-cards.
It will be a matter of time before some clever company comes with a back-up
medium, where you simply plug-in the chip, and press the "download"-button.
