Rip it wav files using EAC. Use [Action > Test & Copy > uncompressed]
and set EAC to use burst mode. When EAC is finished look at the CRC
column and if all tracks all marked "OK" you know you have perfect
Then drag the wav files over LameDrop and drop them. Use LameDrop
configured for Quality > Standard and Encoder > Fast. This results in
the Lame preset of V3, which is said to produce transparent encoding
(transparent = most people cannot distinguish the MP3 from the original
in an ABX blind test).
On my machine using this method it takes less time to encode a CD into
files virtually transparent to the original than writing this post did.
There are, of course, many other ways of doing it but this is the method
I'm personally using this week.
