The HDV standard for 1080i is 1440 x 1080. You can, however, get 1920 x
1080 out of the Canon's HDMI port.

It's not the software that's the issue, it's the HDV spec. Premiere Pro
treats HDV as a 1.33 to 1 aspect ratio, which works out to 1920.

All software thinks HDV 1080i is 1440 x 1080 because . . . well . . . it is.
