You still think the color filters are outside the LCD panel, and
between the LCD and the backlight? You may want to rethink
that; you're simply showing how unfamiliar you are with the
technology.

Sigh. You can't Google this stuff for yourself?

Hopefully you will agree that LG Philips knows how to make
LCD panels. I can personally attest that the process as outlined on the
pages referenced above accurately describes what goes on in their
fabs. And please note where the color filters wind up, and how they
are made.

If you prefer your process explanations animated, AU Optronics
(#3 LCD maker in the world, after LG and Samsung) has a very
nice Flash version at their site:

Also notice on that page:

Array Process
The Array Process is similar to the semiconductor manufacturing process,
except that transistors are fabricated on a glass substrate instead of a
silicon wafer.

Cell Process
The Cell Process joins the arrayed back substrate and the front substrate
that is fitted with a color filter. The space between the two substrates is
filled with liquid crystal.

Module Assembly Process
The Module Assembly Process involved connecting additional components, such
as driver integrated circuits and backlight units, to the fabricated glass
panel.

Didn't take all that long, did it?
