The question comes up often at AVSforum and the popular belief is that the
MPAA has put so many restrictions on recording/copying that the companies
decided to quit making them for the US market. It's too bad because my
HX900 is also close to three years old and I figure it's only a matter of
time until the fan and/or hard drive crap out. Many people have had
success replacing the hard drive themselves.
