Yes, if you know how. Use custom or advanced button to change default
settings for bit rate, etc. There are many ways to get good quality video
from Vegas, not some cookie cutter version. I put videos on the web, also
and it is very difficult to get good quality at a szie that is realistic to
put on the web. Vegas does a very good job, by allowing one to change the
standard settings for movie rendering/compression, sample rates, bit rates,
use high frame rate, low sample rate, screen size, etc., etc.
Of course when editing High Def (Blue Ray) videos, if one changes much they
wont be high def, but they still look better than standard dvd quality.
Adobe's video editor is better, if you want to spend 4 years learning how to
use it. It also costs a lot more than Vegas.
I have used windows movie maker, and even though it is free with win xp,
vista, it is a waste of time, for me. I like to be able to determine what
the final product will be, have a good deal of control ver every aspect of
it and produce videos for a variety of conditions (internet, dvd, broadcast,
etc), Vegas will allow me to do this. win MM will not.
