I suggest that you make the leap to HDTV. Now you can post 720p true
high definition content online. There are many camcorders in HD
available. Which one you purchase depends on what your outcome is:
filmmaking or home videos. For home videos you should just get any HD
camcorder, but for filmmaking make sure the camcorder shoots in 24p
and 1080p is preferred on whatever you get. Computer screens aren't
big enough for 1080p, but 720p looks great. Sony Vegas is considered
the cheapest and best editing software for HD, plus it even supports
24p. I use a great site called vimeo to post my videos. I upload
then in .aac format 1280x720p. aspect ratio of 1, and using a bitrate
of 4000-5000 kb/sec

I suggest you check out my video on there, to see how awesome the
quality is. The trailer was only like 10 mb in file size for 1
minute. However, understand that the raw unedited footage requires
good hard drive space, i recommend you have at least 100-200 gigs
storage.
