Well, shooting 24P isn't necessary at all and many of those interweb
filmmakers shooting 24P do it poorly.

That is a sweeping statement that doesn't hold up to any level of
examination.


Sony Vegas is considered

By who exactly? Vegas is one of many that do an excellent job of
editing HD. Vegas does have its own peculiar interface that some love
or hate.
