When's the last time you opened up the tower and Alladin box and
dusted them out and re-seated all the boards? Ours looked like a cat
had raised kittens in there, it was so full of dust, which inhibits
component cooling and leads to flakey behavior. After the hardware is
physically cleaned, run an old fashioned drive cleaning, kill off old
files you don't need, free up C drive space, run your disk utils to
see how fractured your files are. When you reboot, be sure there is
already a video signal and burst running into the box.
