Basic physics, dipshit.

Billet metal rounds are rolled, cast, drawn, etc, and are not a single
lattice matrix of molecules. They all have a "grain pattern" instilled
in them.

A Quartz ingot is grown crystal, and the molecular lattice is far more
"perfect". Quartz, for one, grows perfect, mostly free-of-flaw crystals
in nature as it is. In a controlled environment, free of contamination
by other elements, it will grow even more perfectly than that.

THEREFORE, dipshit, A slab cut off of said Quartz ingot, once
fabricated into the round, short cylinder needed to be a turntable
platter, will be far better balanced and require as close to zero
balancing or media removal.

The metallic platter will require media to be removed from one side at
the very least, one location to bring the disc shaped platter into
balance.

Stick THAT up yer wow, flutter it, and see how it feels, you fucking
LinkTard!

The real question is: At which point does balance differences in the
platter make for negligible differences in the wow and flutter produced
in the system?

I don' need no stinking LINKS!
