And yes, I know we're AVD'ers are all deeply scarred and neurotically
traumatized and untrustful--with any mention of the B or P-words
haunting us with the ghosts of Blu-D00d--but in the real world, it's
become the sad galling fact of the industry:
Namely that in terms of Sony, Panasonic, LG and Samsung, on the playing
fields of BD loading times, DVD upscaling, price, bonus-feature
compatability, HDMI and 1.1 - 2.0 upgrade adaptability, not only have
none of the standalones have caught up with the "game machine" as of
yet, but as for the machine itself...DAY-um. 0_0
It's possible we may see Sony's next generation of '08-'09 standalones
start taking some technical cues from The One Blu Player in the
Marketplace That Works, and Boy Does It Ever, but if that's what won the
War, we can gladly toss our Usenet pride out the window.
