Got to be closed back, which pretty well eliminates the best-sounding
Sennheisers.
For live recording the closed back phones that have been getting a lot of
favorable comment over in rec.audio.pro recently are the Audio Technica
ATH-M50, which are about $150 from regular dealers, and about $100 new on
ebay. I have a pair and I really like them.
