To answer: "Did you flush the DNS cache after modifying hosts? "
No, but I just did. I closed WinMX, went to a command prompt, typed
IPCONFIG/FLUSHDNS and got the response "Windows 2000 IP Configuration
Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache." Then I restarted WinMX,
but still no connection.
