Many thanks for both these suggestions, Colin and Shevek. Unfortunately I'm
not having too much luck with either!
With Net Transport, the transfer speed drops drastically within minutes - at
the moment, it is chugging along at 7 bytes per second, and will complete
its task in 86 hours. (The file it is downloading is 2.7 Mb and runs for
just over a minute...) My broadband connection isn't the fastest in the
world, but there's no way that it is *that* slow!
The first time I tried Fraps, the saved file had a playing time of a
fraction of a second - no more than a couple of frames - and subsequent
attempts didn't result in any file being saved at all.
