At a guess I'd say it fell foul of Ebay's listing policies due to the
gambling element.
As to how it came to Ebay's attention I'd guess that either
a) Ebay staff read the newsgroup or noticed unusually high activity on the
listing
b) A disgruntled losing bidder shopped him
c) One of the many "Mary Whitehouse wannabees" whose mission in life is to
police Ebay shopped him
As PayPal's t&c specifically forbid the use of the service for gambling I'd
again strongly suggest that Andy withdraws the funds asap if he has not
already done so.
