Hello,
Well, I hope this is the right place to post this.
I like to make music videos to my favorite music at home on my Mac
(FCP). This is a hobby of mine, in order to terrorize & haunt friends
& family members. I just love to cut film. So these little flicks
of course, use my favorite music and whatever clips of whatever
material (mine or otherwise) I can get my hands.
My question is within the concerns of copyright and such. I'm just a
hobbiest and can't afford the big $ to buy all my stock footage, but I
yearn, am desperate for images to cut. I have been looking around and
came across some govt. web sites that offer classic old footage free
for downoad, but the resolution is usually too small, of course. I
keep hearing of "royalty free public domain" stock such as here:
http://www.buyoutfootage.com/pages/pd.html
That place has tons of the type of footage I'm looking for. But FCP
alone broke me finacially, let alone paying hundreds and thousands for
small bits of footage.
So, if it is "free public domain" - can I do the legwork myself and get
it via other avenues?
Thanks
