I was just kidding. I found the setting by trial and error -- lots of

Well, it does to this extent: it assumes that the source for video and audio
is the same as for preview.

Probably more than you realize. I use DV + analog for video preview. This
gives me realtime display on my video (not computer) monitor. It would be
reasonable to pull the audio from my DV source as well.

I'm glad it worked. Premiere has a relatively steep learning curve, but
once you've got it down, it's fast and powerful.
