We fly two projectors, left and right, and they work well. > 6000 ANSI
lumens sounds about right (as per Larry J.). Even then do you have large
windows (not stained glass)? We had to put 3M film on ours to darken them
acceptably.
You may wish to run VGA, RG-6 Coax, and CAT5 to the projector. This way
(depending on the projector) you can use computer output from programs such
as EasyWorship for scripture and PowerPoint presentations (over the VGA (a
VGA booster may be required)), send video from VCR/DVD over the coaxial
input, and if nothing else monitor the connectedness of the projectors via
the Cat5 (theft alert).
I'd guess you want to project from the back because unsightly wiring may be
a problem in an existing structure. Supplying power and running say 1.5" PVC
for the data/video cables could be an expensive (and visually unacceptable)
solution. In that case a special lens may be the better way to go. If it's
under construction then I'd definitely wire receptacles for the projector at
the pole ends and run 1.5" PVC with sweep 90s with no constriction to its
full diameter. This allows for low cost replacement of bad cables and the
addition of other cabling (fiber?) in the future.
