Code is tied to hardware, whether GPU or CPU. As for being a Pinnacle
problem of being tied to hardware, all early NLE's were tied to
hardware. Some still are. The real time FX stuff is done with the CPU
within Liquid. Lots of fx, etc. The ability to use the GPU is a plus in
my opinion. You do NOT have to use any GPU FX. The faster the video card
or cpu the faster the rendering, amount of layers, etc.. Liquid has
never been tied to any hardware. That is why I went that route. I did
not want to be tied to hardware. I saw what happened to the Pro One
crowd. Not very pretty. The DV500 was well supported for a long time.
