James C. Allison:
See? Sometimes a little obsession can be a good thing! :)
NOW... The next thing is how to get the DV Devices from "Imaging Devices" to
"Sounds, Video, Multimedia" in the Device Manager, because the Matrox Video
Tools requires them to be in Sounds/Video/Multimedia. Like I say: Matrox
requires this, but the way that they say to do it doesn't work.
I called Bubba ROM DOS today, and he said that Windows determines where in
DeviceManager a device goes by the kind of driver it has. Well, Matrox says
that the driver that the DV Devices should use is: C:\WINNT\inf\dvcam.inf --
But I cannot find that driver anywhere. I've looked on the Win2K CD, I've
looked on all the Matrox CDs, I've looked on C: Drive, and it is nowhere to
be found. But that's nothing, even if I found it, there's nothing I could do
with it because the Hardware Install Wizard has its own ideas about it, and
always puts the DV Devices in "ImagingDevices" without my having anything to
say about it.
Anyway Richard, would you like to let your luck take a shot at THAT issue?
:)
Hope you are doing well.
Regards
Allison
