Whoa! I don't regard anything that TonyP wrote as being insulting to
users of this forum. He was purely reflecting how some CLIENTS
think... and they're the d*ckheads.

We've surely all of us come across so-called professionals who equip
themselves with all the (allegedly) 'top quality' names in kit and
software, but use it to produce poor quality end results. They're
purely seduced by the brand names (rather like those who buy so-called
off-roaders from Porsche, BMW and Mercedes... and then get stuck on wet
grass!), and somehow manage to sweep their innocent/gullible clients
along with that.

I've managed (he said, modestly) to produce some intriguing work on
Premiere and LE that baffles a colleague working on Media 100 (at 5
times the cost)... and I'm sure that most of us can say the same.

That's why I'm very disappointed that Pinnacle pitched LE6 higher and
higher in the pro market, and then let it go out with a buggy DVD
writer that's apparently been carried over to Avid L7.

On that score, Tech Support in Germany currently have a DVD project of
mine on the workbench to try to find out why it has menu problems on
certain machines (notably Panasonic recorder/players and LG players).
I'm not upgrading to L7 until they can assure me that it won't produce
the same fault on my next project. Am I holding my breath?
