Assuming "<grins>" because of the visual impact on
the wedding ceremony. Is that what they mean by a
"shotgun wedding"? :-)
Technically, a shotgun with a parabolic reflector will
collect no more sound than a shotgun pointed the wrong
way without the parabolic reflector.
The parabolic reflector concentrates the sound at a single
point (just like a satellite dish), whereas a shotgun mic
collects sound all along its length.
