This is a known issue that has no real workaround to keep perfect sync
when capturing from a Canon XL-1. Instead I use an app called
Scenalyzer Live to capture my XL-1 footage. It is pretty inexpensiive
and works perfectly and is a great app that I find indispensible for
everyday capture and mini-DV tape backup use.
