Bill.. if you assume that everyone wants the cheapest, easiest to use, best
low light, best audio best overall camera in a price range to shoot
whatever.. Then this discussion makes sense. The idea that everyone, even
those just beginning, can qualify a camera based on their needs rather than
relative performance seems to me to be an unreal expectation.
This thread revealed an interesting fact regarding the low light performance
of a HDV camera vs a DV camera. That's good to know regardless of what you
are shooting.
Gear is NOT everything of course.. but starting with quality gear can be the
difference between inspiration, success and failure.
Otherwise you may not be using whatever camera you have chosen.
