That's something typical for Panasonic. From the Varicam I remember this
has something to do with setting the dynamic-range to 500%. Maybe this
applies to the 200 as well? When I mean "record highest quality", the
camera can record DVCProHD and DVCPro50, which have far higher data-rates
and lower compression, than the other HDV-camera's. But yes, they are not
HDV.
