**I liked Castle in the Sky. I watched it to see if it was okay for my
niece, now 4, but I thought that a few parts were a bit too violent.
Have you ever seen Pom Poko? Or do you know the story of it? In
English, it's raccoons with magic pouches. In Japanese, it's tanukis
with magical scrotums and they do miraculous things with them. :) I
see the DVD in the kid section of stores and I wondered what mothers
thought of that DVD. I read some reviews on Amazon and one mom was
flipping out. LOL! I liked it, though.

**Grave of the Fireflies was stunning, what a great movie. I made a
mistake and bought the regular DVD with one disc in it. I'm going to
pick up the special edition soon and pass the single disc on to a
younger cousin. Have to spread it to those who will appreciate it!

**Nah, start her off with Totoro or maybe some Panda, Go Panda! if you
can find it. Or, get the soundtrack to Spirited Away! It's fantastic.
You can put little headphones on her while she sleeps :) I'm going to
get it for my sister for Christmas.
Have you ever tried Steamboy? It's not Ghibli but the style is a bit
like it. It doesn't have that emotional pull of the Ghibli flicks but
it is quite good. I made a blind purchase for the soundtrack
(awesome!) to Metropolis but I don't have the DVD yet. Have you seen
the movie?
