Might I suggest to you first use a free programme called PVAstrumento
(bit of a learning curve there! - look for the help file which is
separate) which will get you an awful lot closer to perfect sync than
before, it cant correct every sync fault but it will get you much
closer say in a 2 hour stream and it is real fast, I cant remember if
it will do .avi, I always capture to .mpg. If it isnt then perfect
enough you could then hand correct with the like of videoredo for the
last measure...sliding out of sync seems to be caused mostly by GOP
length faults in the transfers - PVAstrumento corrects the GOP lengths
and then attemps to resync each GOP as the stream progresses.
