Yes, Shrink will automatically compress the data to fit onto a singlelayer DVD - exactly!. If you use the 'deep analysis ' mode it can do it
 very well, especially if there is not too much compression. It is best
 to reduce the audio file size by converting the audio to AC3. It leaves
 more space for the video.
 Or you could do all the calculations manually, re: bit rate,VBR, two
 pass etc. Only you can decide whether any quality improvement is worth
 the extra effort.
