I'm on the verge of buying a new computer, and this one will have a
DVD burner in it. My DVD player is a Yamakawa DVD-218, and there's
no indication on the box or in the manual or on the
manufacturer's website whether it will play DVD-R or +R, or both.
So I'm not sure what format the burner needs to handle, and even if
it handles both, I don't know what blanks to buy to be compatible
with my player.
Is there an easy way to find out which format(s) my player supports?
Is there a database somewhere?
Also, if both the player and the burner support both formats, is one
generally considered to be best, or more universally accepted?
