I'm making an assumption here, but if you're burning 500 discs in 5
months you're already way outside of the norm. Your experiences aren't
likely to be shared by many other regular users.

If your real question is, which brand and model will allow you to burn
100 discs a month, month after month, my choices would be NEC,
Plextor, and Pioneer, because I have personally found them to be
reliable. Then again, I'm burning less than 10% of the quantity you're
apparently burning. It almost sounds like you'd be better off with
some sort of commercial equipment rather than the consumer stuff most
of us use.
